In 2009, Intercultural Dialogue Institute, together with Canadian Institute of Intercultural Dialogue, and with the generous support of Carleton University’s College of the Humanities, sponsored a conference on the general theme on contributions of the Gulen movement towards global peace, education, interfaith and intercultural dialogue, and tolerance. Participants explored the appeal, meaning, and impact of Fethullah Gülen and the Gülen movement as exemplifying approaches to education, dialogue, and peace. Some of the institutions that attended the event include Carleton University, Canadian Institute of Intercultural Dialogue, University of Ottawa, Saint Paul University, McGill University, University of Toronto, University of Waterloo, Lutheran Seminary, University of Texas, Austin, Presbyterian Theological Seminary, Saygi Canadian-Turkish Academics Association, and Ebru TV.
